Research

During my master and PhD’s, I worked with Bacteroides fragilis, a member of the gut microbiota, and I investigated interactions and the adhesion of B. fragilis to components of the extracellular matrix. At KU, my research has been focused on the interactions between microbes and the host, the role of the gut microbiota in human health, and studying the impact of microbiome-derived small molecules on bacterial pathogen gene expression and behavior.
