Research —

My work focuses on using computational methods to characterize mito-nuclear interactions in Evolutionary Mutant Models, species that have evolved adaptations that are maladaptive in humans, as a framework for understanding human mitochondrial disease. The goal is to identify the genetic and molecular mechanisms of compensation that prevent disease, ultimately informing new therapeutic targets in humans.
