W.M. Keck Foundation Grant awarded to Molecular Biosciences Faculty
Brian Ackley (Professor of Molecular Biosciences), Michael Wolfe (Mathias P. Mertes Professor of Medicinal Chemistry), Jesse Wiley, (Associate Professor of Pharmacology & Toxicology) and Kim Green (Chancellor’s Professor of Neurobiology and Behavior at UC Irvine) were awarded a W.M. Keck Foundation Grant. The project titled “In Search of Molecular Triggers of Alzheimer’s Disease” aims at testing molecular alternatives to the prevailing "Amyloid Hypothesis" of Alzheimer's Disease using C. elegans, mice, and human iPSCs, focused on mechanisms that are conserved among all three systems.
