Two-Year grant will fund research into repressing viral replication

KU Molecular Biosciences faculty, David Davido (professor) and Tony Fehr (Associate Professor) received a $411,500 grant from the NIH National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.  The two-year R21 project is titled “Determining the role of PARP14 in restricting HSV-1 replication” and aims to establish PARP14 as a host restriction factor for HSV-1 and define the mechanisms PARP14 uses to repress virus replication.
