Spring 2026 Travel Award Recipients
Bell Travel Award
Taiye Adewumi (Unckless Lab) presented a poster titled “Adaptation of a DNA Virus to Drosophila Species” at the 67th annual Drosophila conference (Dros26) held in Chicago from March 4 - 8, 2026. Adewumi said “I had the privilege of engaging with faculty, staff scientists, postdoctoral researchers, graduate, and undergraduate students, receiving positive feedback and discussing potential future directions for my research. Through this conference, I have expanded my network within the scientific community, fostering collaborations and exchanging ideas on exciting research topics.”
American Association of Immunologist Travel Award
Macie Proctor-Roser (Orozco Lab) was awarded an American Association of Immunologist (AAI) Travel Award to attend the national Immunology 2026 Meeting being held April 15-19, 2026, in Boston, MA. She was also selected to do an oral presentation at a block symposium section of that meeting.
Alec Bevis (Orozco Lab) was also awarded an AAI Travel Award to attend the national Immunology 2026 Meeting.
