Spring 2025 Travel Award Recipients

Bell Travel Awards
Kervens Accilien and Taiye Adewumi, from the Unckless Lab, each received a Bell Travel Award for Spring 2025.
Kervens Accilien presented an oral presentation titled “Differential Evolution of Pseudomonas fluorescens Against Ribosome-Targeting Peptides vs Small-Molecule Antimicrobials” at the Gordon Research Conference on Antimicrobial Peptides held in Ventura, CA on February 22-28, 2025.
Taiye Adewumi presented a poster titled “Adaptation of a DNA Virus to Drosophila melanogaster” at the annual Drosophila conference (Dros25) held in San Diego, CA on March 19-23, 2025. Adewumi said “I had the privilege of engaging with faculty, staff scientists, postdoctoral researchers, graduate, and undergraduate students, receiving positive feedback and discussing potential future directions for my research. Through this conference, I have expanded my network within the scientific community, fostering collaborations and exchanging ideas on exciting research topics.”
