NIH R21 Grant Awarded
David Davido (professor) was awarded a two-year, $410,000 R21 research grant from the NIH National Institute of Allergy and infectious diseases entitled “Role of ICP0 Dimerization in Herpes Simplex Virus Pathogenesis.” The goal of the project is to determine how dimerization of HSV-1 E3 ubiquitin ligase ICP0 impacts its functions and the viral life cycle. Dr. Davido will collaborate on this project with Dr. David Bloom, assistant professor of the KU Department of Medicinal Chemistry.
