MB Trainees Accomplishments Fall 2025
Doctoral Defenses:
Samalee Banerji (Chandler’s lab) defended her PhD dissertation entitled “Quorum sensing regulation by the nitrogen phosphotransferase system, in Pseudomonas aeruginosa” on September 5, 2025.
Brielle McKee (Chandler’s lab) defended her PhD dissertation entitled, “Mechanisms of LasR and FusA1- regulated antibiotic resistance in the bacterial pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa” on August 29, 2025.
Competition:
Bren Den Ng, (Ferreira’s Lab) was selected as the 2nd place winner in the KU’s Fall 2025 Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition that was held on October 30th, 2025. Developed by The University of Queensland, 3MT cultivates students’ academic, presentation, and research communication skills. The competition supports their capacity to effectively explain their research in three minutes, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.
