KU faculty receives Special Event Award through the American Genetics Association

Dr. Allie Graham, Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular Biosciences, was awarded $5,000 to help support the annual KU Center for Genomics symposia through the American Genetics Association.  The KU symposium was held on Friday, May 8, 2026, and brought together researchers from across the region. The event highlighted innovative work and focused on early career researchers in genomics and genetics. It also provided opportunities for networking and community building.

Each year, the American Genetic Association grants awards to its members to support special events that advance organismal genetics and genomics research, and to promote the application of genetic and genomic methods to understand, document, conserve, and manage biological diversity.

Dr. Robert Unckless, Department of Molecular Biosciences, and Dr. Justin Tackney, Department of Anthropology, assisted in the grant application effort.
