Pilot award to stimulate collaborative research

Yinglong Miao (associate professor) was awarded a pilot grant from the Jared Grantham Kidney Institute at University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC), entitled Mechanism of polycystin-1 signal transduction in complex with polycystin-2. The major goal is to decipher the signaling mechanism of polycystin-1 (PC1) in the PC1/PC2 receptor-ion channel complex by combining complementary computer simulations and functional signaling assays. Dr. Miao’s group will collaborate with Dr. Robin Maser’s lab at KUMC on this project.
