Welcome Robin Orozco!

Robin C. Orozco (assistant professor) joins the Department of Molecular Biosciences faculty. Dr. Orozco received her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences-Virology and Gene Therapy from Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in Rochester, Minnesota, under the mentorship of Dr. Aaron Johnson. While in graduate school, Dr. Orozco studied immune mediated blood-brain barrier disruption during CNS viral infection. Following graduate school, she traveled across the United States to San Diego, California for her postdoctoral training in immunology at Scripps Research with Dr. Linda Sherman. While at Scripps, Dr. Orozco was awarded a spot on the NIH funded Molecular Pathogenesis training grant, which allowed her to build a research program that aims to define how allelic variation impacts anti-viral immunity. The Orozco lab will continue to develop this program at KU. Welcome Dr. Orozco!
