Josie Chandler is a recipient of an NIH R01

Josie Chandler (associate professor) is a recipient of an NIH R01 entitled “Small molecules for perturbing iron homeostasis in bacterial biofilms” in collaboration with faculty from the University of Kansas and Louisiana State University (PI: Mario Rivera). The research project will receive a total of $1.7 million over the next five years. The project will be focused on improving molecules that disrupt iron homeostasis in the bacterial pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which might be used to block P. aeruginosa infections.
